Karaoke Speaker vs. PA Speakers vs. Sound System: Pros and Cons

Perhaps you have been considering to update or increase your audio experiences with new speakers.  You decided that you will, except now that leaves the question of what type of system should I acquire?

Would it be best to purchase a one speaker Karaoke speaker, a 2 speaker PA system, or a full sound package with all of the bells and whistles anyone could ever want.

Let's consider the pros and cons of each type of speaker or system.

A SINGLE KARAOKE SPEAKER

PROS:

  • One speaker that is very portable
  • Functions with party lights
  • Comes with speakers
  • Accessories many times include microphones, remotes, and memory cards.

CONS:

  • Speaker is very large and many times bulky
  • Sound comes from only one spot
  • Accessories may not be as higher quality as you would like

PA SPEAKERS:

PROS:

  • 2 Speakers to push out the sound production
  • Usually come with stands for each speaker
  • Accessories usually include a quality microphone and Bluetooth capabilities

CONS:

  • Not as portable as a karaoke speaker
  • Does not include flashy lights
  • Does not include capability of SD memory cards

SOUND SYSTEM

PROS:

  • All the bells and whistles you could want!
  • Speaker package that won't disappoint:  array Speakers and subwoofers
  • Built in Bluetooth
  • Clear and Deep Stereo Sound
  • USB Flash & SD Memory Card Readers
  • Large LCD display to clearly indicate the current mode
  • Built-in handles on the side easily to lift and transport the subwoofers
  • Telescoping speaker poles make the overall height adjustable from 68 inch to 86 inch to ensure good acoustics

CONS:

  • Really, what's not to love for a full audio experience anywhere, but the one con we see is the learning curve to connect all the provided pieces for the system.

The choice between a karaoke speaker, PA speakers or a sound system depends on your unique circumstances and what you intended use for the enhanced sound However, it remains true that you get what you pay for.  And as always, a well thought out and researched product is always best.
